Ford Bronco 2024: A Perfect Game

2023-09-29

I must admit that the Ford Bronco is one of my favorites this year. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss this vehicle, even though my test drive dates back several months. The fact is that the Bronco checks all the boxes without exception. It's a vehicle that can tow, and its roof comes off easily, allowing you to enjoy beautiful days to the fullest. Its 4x4 drivetrain is particularly effective on all surfaces, making it a competent vehicle no matter the season or type of terrain. The Bronco is suitable for both modern-day adventurers and occasional campers who simply want to enjoy themselves every day. As a bonus, the American manufacturer's SUV offers a touch of nostalgia for the old-timers with its retro look. Ford has even capitalized on this characteristic with heritage versions added to the lineup last year.

There are no major changes for the 2024 Ford Bronco, except for the removal of the base model. This isn't a big loss for the model since the most popular versions of the Bronco are usually the best-equipped, and for good reason. Let's not forget that this is a vehicle you buy for pleasure above all else. It's not impossible that new additions will be made to the 2024 Bronco lineup after the publication of this text, as is often the case with this kind of model.

Range and Prices

The Ford Bronco lineup consists of 9 different versions for 2024, starting with the Bronco Big Bend. Next, there are the Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Everglades, Raptor, Heritage, and Heritage Limited versions. There's something for every taste and budget. Each version comes with a descriptive sheet that helps you choose the model that best suits your needs. For example, the Outer Banks version offers a more elegant finish that is preferable for city driving, especially in terms of tires. If you're into occasional off-roading, the Badlands version offers the best of both worlds. For enhanced off-road capabilities, there are the Wildtrack and Everglades versions. For breathtaking performance, there's the Raptor version. Most versions are available with 2 or 4 doors, making the American manufacturer's SUV even more appealing.

  • Big Bend – $51,460
  • Black Diamond – $57,230
  • Outer Banks – $61,835
  • Badlands – $65,470
  • Wildtrak – $80,720
  • Everglades – $77,130
  • Heritage – $64,680
  • Heritage Limited – $93,120
  • Raptor – $116,190

Category and Competition

I'd like to tell you that the competition is fierce in this segment, but that's not really the case since there are only two major players in the category. Of course, you can add some versions of other models to create some competition, but the Ford Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler are the only two vehicles that offer essentially the same features. When it comes to choosing between one or the other, it's mostly a matter of preference. Few Wrangler or Bronco owners have told me they hesitated between one model or the other. Generally, they know what they want even before they go to the dealership. In any case, Bronco and Wrangler sales are constantly on the rise, proving that there is still plenty of room in the market for other vehicles of the same kind.

Rivals: Jeep Wrangler

Design and Technology

Although the Bronco already has a retro look, Ford felt it wasn't enough. That's why the manufacturer is offering two Heritage editions in vintage colors for 2024. It's not for everyone, but personally, I really like the combinations they're offering. The white accents and pastel colors suit the 2024 Bronco very well, promising to make it even more popular than ever.

There are no major changes in terms of technology for the 2024 Bronco. It offers interesting features even in its base version, and you don't need to go to the top of the range to enjoy the best technologies the model has to offer, which is a significant advantage.

Performance

You have three mechanical options for the 2024 Ford Bronco, starting with a 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It delivers 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque and can be paired with a 7-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. Next is the 2.7-liter V6, which produces 330 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the last mechanical option is only available with the Raptor version, featuring a 3.0-liter V6 with 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Both V6 options are available with only the 10-speed automatic transmission.

Weak Points

The price rises quickly from one version to another, and some option packages can be quite expensive. The Bronco is not the most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class.

Strengths

It's a vehicle that has everything to offer and meets the needs of the majority of people. It's enjoyable to drive and never fails to turn heads as it passes by.

Signature Element

The Ford Bronco is the kind of vehicle we all dream of owning at one time or another.

Closing Thoughts

Earlier, I mentioned that the choice between the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco is primarily a matter of preference. Here's why I would opt for the latter over its rival. First, for some reason, I always manage to bump into something when I get into the Wrangler. Secondly, I find the driving position slightly more comfortable in the Bronco, and the cabin is especially more spacious, which makes a difference for someone of my stature. Finally, I simply prefer the look of the Bronco, and that's why I would choose it over the Wrangler. Is it the same for you?
